Counterfeit Protection Features Security Strip - a dark coloured metallic strip woven into the
paper
and partially showing through on the reverse features the holographic
white-on-black lines "БНБ 100".
Watermarks - a halftone image of the portrait, the initials
БНБ (BNB in Bulgarian). Holographic Stripe - This features the image of an edelweiss
alternating through motion with a profile of Aleko Konstantinov. Transparent Register Element - when the banknote is held
against a light source the figure 100 appears over the marked field. Multi-hue ink changes colour with motion from mauve to green.
The banknote also features counterfeit protection features pioneered
in the euro which represent a higher order of protection
and are intended for specialists in instruments of payment.
