It is time for another round of Peter's Platform. This time the
Internet really is in focus, so let us get on with it!
The Internet once again.
There are many possibilities when it comes to searching for
information on even paper money. You can always start with a look at
Lansa's homepage. However, other possibilities are.
I can only recommend for you to spend some time on a visit to
these homepages. You may even find links to other pages of your
interest.
Internet Auctions
Another rather interesting site could be
http://www.ebid.com.au/, where
their Internet Aucitons are held. Visit the place and find out if
there is something for you. You can also write to e*bid and William
J. Baker, if you want to have your own notes sold on Internet
Auctions. The address is: mailto:%20%20contact@ebid.com.au
Use a pen instead
Despite all the modern and technological equipment it is still
possible to use a pen and write a decent letter to a fellow
collector with a request for an exchange of notes. This is how many
collectors develope their collections, since budgets often are with
some limitations.
To promote this purpose LANSA has just had some pens made in a
beautiful green color and with logo and LANSA written in white. They
are excellent for writing. You can have your own pen to keep for
practical use or as a souvenir. Send US$2.00 (includes postage!!!)
to the editor of this platform and get 2 pens!
Notes on the move
We have recently started a new milennium and with that occasion
behind us we have a lot of discussons in Europe about the "new"
Euro. In some countries this currency will substitute for the
original. Thus, some currencies will sooner or later be past and
history. That is one thing.
Another thing is that notes are on the move, developing and
getting more advanced. Plastic notes have come to stay.
I have noticed that Brazil is on the way with plastic notes. To
be honest I am quite curious to see what they will come up with.
First of all plastic is a different media, but also because Brazil
has a proud tradition when it comes to paper money!
E-commerce here to stay!
Let us just spend another few moments with the internet. If you
want to buy notes by using the internet, there also seems to be
quite a lot of options.
I am not doing advertising for certain suppliers. However, there
are a few that I would like to recommend, since they are both
reasonable in price, realiable and offer a good service.
They are
- abuga@takas.lt
- videorano8@hotmail.com
- oscar@nicarao.org.ni
The first is Arunas Buga from Lithuania who offers a large
variety of notes from countries est of Finland.
The other one is Wladimiro Orano from Sweden, who has a wide
variety of all sorts of notes from all over the world.
The third one is Oscar Roberto Fonseca Calderon from Nicaragua,
who offers an excellent range of different and attractive notes from
both Nicaragua and other parts of the Central and South American
continent - even at modest prices!
If interested, drop them an e-mail to find out what they can
offer you.
Take care and see you.
Peter! |
