Haiti Commemoratives Both the 1999 Port-au-Prince - Hyppolite 1,000 Gourdes and the 2004 Bicentennials commemorative issues were held up pending legislation to authorize their release. The Central Bank has now released the six new Bicentennial designs starting on August 20, 2004 with the 1,000 Gourdes note planned for early in 2005. This article highlights both the revolutionary leaders and President Hyppolite's accomplishments. |
